Hi!

Wow! Tegretol. Tegretol is toally old skool. I was prescribed it back in the day when i was first diagnosed which was a little over 20 years ago. Tegretol is an anti-psychotic. it used to be used to treat manic depression and seizures. what i remember about Tegretol is that I had the feeling, “wow! this is what normal people feel like!” i was failing college and on tegretol, i managed to bring my F’s up to C’s in a month. it’s nothing like taking a stimulant which often made me feel i had “too much energy”. Tegretol though is tough on your liver and it’s side effects can be extreme. Your doctor will probably want you to get your white blood cell count taken every month in the beginning as it can have a significant effect on it. I personally have been living my life w/out medication for the past 15 and it’s not easy! bouncing from career to career, getting so bored at work i find myself creating crisis situations so i can focus. I am very much considering going back.
