Adderall and weakness

Started my almost 7 year old daughter on adderall 2 weeks ago at 5 mg. Seemed to help. Yesterday started her on 10 mg extended release. Yesterday and today she complained of leg weakness at end of day. When I asked she said she had been feeling it off and on today. Called pediatrician office tonight and they thought she might be dehydrated so we are increasing fluids. Talked to a nurse and she said stop meds and call office tomorrow which we will do, but wondering if this was a side effect any of your kids have had? Thanks.

My son has been on Adderall for 4 years, but never time release. He has not had this concern.

My son has been on Adderall XR for over a year but has never had this issue. Maybe she is experiencing good old fashioned growing pains?

My son is on Adderrall and is 10 yrs old. He is also on the extended release. He hasn’t complained of leg weakness but does go thru growing pains , complaining of sharp stabbing pains. I know that it was not due to being on Adderall due to the fact that it has been happening since he was about 8 yrs old and he hasn’t been on Adderall that long.
I would still take the appropriate steps thru your ped. It may just be a coincidence that it happened just after she started on Adderall XR and it could be something completely different. Worth checking into…..
Could it be low potassium? I know that one of the symptoms can be muscle weakness. Have her eat bananas…..I’m having my son eat bananas due to needing more fiber in his diet due to Adderall making him constipated.
